Orientalism

The paintings of 19th century enjoy a very special place between the numerous styles in fine arts. In that epoch some artists have also specialized their works on oriental subjects and with their unique style they have enriched the collections of the "orientalism". Today, many of these paintings are scattered worldwide. Most of them remain in private collections and are non- accessible for public, but however, some paintings can be admired in different museums of the world. In last decades some art lovers of the orientalism succeeded to relocate many of these paintings, to classify them into the various art schools and to publish them in art books. These poeple have done an excellent work, so especially as Lynne Thornton, Gerald M. Ackermann, Philippe Julian, Gérard-George Lemaire, and others, but also various Internet-collections. Many thanks are expressed to them, because during the inspiration phase and the artistic development the contribution of their publications had been of great value for the artist.
